Common Scams to Avoid
Unlicensed drivers at the small regional airports serving Interlaken (such as Bern or Zurich) sometimes pose as official airport taxis, quoting inflated flat rates instead of using the meter. Insist on the meter or pre-book a licensed transfer through the widget below.
Some taxi or shuttle operators add a vague "mountain surcharge" or "luggage fee" that is not posted anywhere. Ask for the fare breakdown before you board and take a photo of any posted tariff sheet.
At the rail ticket counters in Zurich or Bern airports, third-party agents in unofficial-looking booths try to sell overpriced combined tickets that bundle an unnecessary seat reservation with the regular train to Interlaken. Buy only from the official SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) machines or counter.
